- Description: As an Urban Forester / Consulting Arborist, my European observations see the deficiency in planning for the existence of a tree within the built environment. As an i-Tree team affiliate member, I support the need to grow large canopy trees well into maturity to realize those invaluable Ecosystem Services our urban trees should be delivering. That begins with planning - preparing a site in which an urban tolerant forest tree can be sustained. Planting is just a one off. We must approach our Urban Forest from the perspective of long term GROWING - that takes expertise at the planning table.
