- Description: I am working on risk-based surveillance for invasive quarantine forest pests. Urban trees are an important stepping stones for invasive forest pests, because most trade flows go to populated areas. Invasions follow trade flows, and invasive pests and pathogens establish and spread from cities to surrounding forests. Urban trees therefore give opportunities for monitoring and early detection of pests. I am interested in urban tree composition, and functional biodiversity of urban trees. I am furthermore interested in using non-native urban trees as ex-patria sentinel trees.
